A Recession is Coming. It Always is.
EVENT DESCRIPTION
Session #1 of The ASCEND Network
By Francis Tan, UOB Private Bank’s Investment Strategist
The dreadful “R” word seems to be on everyone’s minds these days. Consumers, investors, business owners, and even political leaders are warning about it. And everyone knows what will cause it – rising interest rates.
However, the recent failure of Silicon Valley Bank which has torn through global markets has investors suspending their forecasts for further rises in interest rates. What does this mean for us?
Are we already in a recession? If not, will we be experiencing one soon? Are we heading towards another Global Financial Crisis? If so, what are the signs to look out for and how shall we protect our portfolios?
During these turbulent times, it is unavoidable that feelings of confusion and fear arise. Fortunately, we are here to ensure that you are well-equipped to make informed decisions for navigating through this challenging period.
Programme highlights:
- Where we are on the business cycle
- What to expect next
- How to prepare for recessions
To celebrate the launch of our first session of The ASCEND Network series, we will be partnering with first-rate Italian restaurant and bar, PEN & INC. to bring to you a special complimentary lunch with a choice of Bacon Carbonara, Fish N Chips, or Margarita Pizza (U.P. $20.00)!
