Founded in 1986 by a group of students from Nanyang Technological Institute (NTI) to maintain links with their alma mater, the NTI Alumni Association (NTIAA) was officially registered on 5 September 1986.

The first Annual General Meeting was called at the Nanyang House on 14 September 1986. First Management Committee of six was elected.



Secured the use of facilities at the NTI Staff Club for members' use. Two issues of Alumnus, the official alumni newsletter were published, which was later renamed as Graduate Alumnus.



Nanyang Technological Institute was inaugurated as Nanyang Technological University (NTU). 

The NTI Alumni Association was officially re-named as the NTU Alumni and a brand new logo was launched to commemorate the change. The Alumni launched a Bursary and Book Prize as part of its efforts to support the growth and development of its graduates.



The Alumni organised the inaugural NTU Convocation Ball, which was attended by the former President, Wee Kim Wee and the former First Lady.



A lease was successfully obtained from the NTU administration for the use of a colonial bungalow (House 4) at the University's Bukit Timah campus. The first Clubhouse was born.



The NTU Alumni Clubhouse located at Bukit Timah was officially opened by Mr Lee Yock Suan, the former Minister for Education on 20 August 1994, in conjunction with the first Alumni Day celebrations.



First NTU Alumni Fund-Raising Golf Tournament was held at Raffles Country Club on 22 November 1996, to raise funds for the Alumni Building Fund & University Endowment Fund.



Soft opening of the 12,500 sq. ft NTU Alumni Town Club located at River Valley Road, furnished with modern facilities.



The NTU Alumni Town Club was officially opened on 9 January 1999 by Dr Tony Tan, former Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Defence.



The Groundbreaking Ceremony for the NTU one-north Campus and NTU Alumni one-north Clubhouse was officiated by the Guest-of-Honour, Dr Tony Tan, former Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Defence, on 19 December 2002.



Opening of 2nd clubhouse at SuperBowl Golf & Country Club.



The NTU Alumni one-north Clubhouse was finally completed and ready for member's use in July 2006.



Official Opening of the NTU@one-north campus and NTU Alumni Clubhouse by His Excellency Mr S R Nathan, President of Singapore and Patron of NTU Alumni Club, on 8 May 2007.



MOU Signing with Exploit Technologies A*Star on December 2008.



Opening of NTU Satellite Club at 117A Killiney Road on the 1st of April 2011.


MOU Signing Ceremony between NTUC and NTU Alumni Club: U-Associate Programme, on the 20th of March 2011. 


His Excellency President Tony Tan Keong Yam, President of the Republic of Singapore, became the Patron of NTU Alumni Club on th 5th of September 2011.
